He graduated in the top 10% of his dental class at Marquette University, where he was a distinguished member of two academic honor societies: Omicron Kappa Upsilon and Alpha Sigma Nu. He further honed his skills through a two-year residency focused on orthodontics at Marquette University, solidifying his expertise in the field.

As an accomplished academic, Dr. Lovell has authored three published research papers, showcasing his dedication to staying at the forefront of advancements in orthodontics.

Melanie Lovell retired from the practice of law in 2013 after 20 years as the owner of a family practice law firm in Georgia. As Bright Day Ortho’s office manager, Melanie’s organizational skills and eye for detail help keep the practice running smoothly and efficiently so that patients have a happy, stress-free experience.

Maria Blood

Maria has been in the dental field since 2002. Her sunny smile, happy disposition, and her exceptional and gentle orthodontic technique make her a real asset to the practice! Maria is clearly a people person and enjoys the opportunity to build relationships with her patients. When not at work, her favorite things to do include spending time with her loved ones, writing, yoga, meditation, reading, hiking, and gardening.

Jasmine Ornelas

Ask your questions in Spanish or in English, we’ve got you covered! Our receptionist, Jasmin, was raised in a Spanish-speaking household and is fluently bilingual. Jasmin plays a huge role in creating a fun and comfortable environment for our patients and their families. Her presence in our office helps everyone to understand procedures and feel comfortable and happy with the care they receive. She is organized, efficient, always smiling and happy to help. Her goal is to help those who need it and she meets that goal every day! Jasmin enjoys road-trips, traveling to Mexico, hiking, camping, and spending time with her friends, family, and her furbaby, Mia.

Ashley Lopez

Ashley is our tiny powerhouse! A Cortez native, Ashley started as a patient with us before joining our family as an assistant and has been with Bright Day since 2018. Thorough, gentle, technically skilled, and conscientious, Ashley shines at meeting the needs of our patients and helping them to get the most out of their orthodontic experience. In her free time Ashley likes being outdoors and hanging out with her adorable best friend Rex (the cutest Frenchie ever!). She loves to travel and her goal is to see the world and all the beauty it has to offer.
